Old vintage Yamaha FG-75, tan label, don't know what year, early 70's I'm guesstimating. Picked it up as part of a guitar bundle deal recently and gave next to nothing for it. It has been around the block and is a bit of a campfire beater. It looks like the neck was snapped near the body at some point, but it's held together well and isn't too bad of a sounding and playing old guitar with a fair amount of wear and a couple plonky notes. A smaller scale guitar than my 340-T. Trying to strum along with Wish You Were Here on it, which I've never really strummed on an acoustic before. Audio is straight off my camera. The Folk Guitar (FG) series made by Yamaha in the late 60s and 70s were extremely fine guitars modeled after Martin flatops. If you can get your hands on one of these, they are of very good value, especially the 'red labels' made in Nippon Gakki, Japan, prior to moving production to Tiawan. The tone of most of the ones I have played is exceptional for the dollar. Challenges can include finding ones with good necks (they were lightly built which probably accounts for the nice tone). In my quest for information, I had difficulty finding a good Yamaha resource, so I put this bit of information together focused on the FG Series that were made in the Nippon Gakki facilities. Yamaha Fg 75 Red Label History: I've got two FG-230s. One, a 1972 in bad condition, regular label,that I'm not too fond of. The other-that's a different story.
